What is the total acreage of the Town Center?
The Town Center site consists of a total of 54 acres; of which 40 will consist of the retail/business/residential core.
What is the vision for the City's Town Center site?
The Miramar Town Center will be designed as a pedestrian friendly Traditional Neighborhood with a mixture of uses. It is anticipated to contain the new City Hall facility, cultural arts center, a community library, and educational facilities in the civic complex area. The project is also programmed to contain retail, office and residential components.
What types of residential homes will be constructed?
Residential units will consist of Live-Work Units, Garden Apartments and Town Homes. Some will be located on the floors above retail/office establishments while others will be located in single-use buildings.
How many homes will be constructed?
Currently, 10,700 residential units are in the Town Center vicinity, with an additional 3,850+ units under construction or proposed. The Town Center site itself will have approximately 504 of Live-Work Units, Garden Apartments, and Townhomes.
What mix of commercial uses will be available?
The commercial uses will be comprised of business offices and various retail establishments such as a specialty grocery store, restaurants, boutique shops or a book store. The City encourages business of all sizes to locate within the Town Center who wish to serve both the needs of the immediate neighborhood and the City as a whole.
How will neighboring residential properties be protected?
The site will minimize impact on neighboring properties by placing the more intense uses located away from existing residential communities and providing a greenbelt and lake at its periphery. It will seek to provide pedestrian connections to neighboring properties by way of bikepaths and walkways, such as to the future Ansin Park and middle school.
