The City of Miramar contributes to our community by providing secure, supervised, learning and play through the Early Childhood Program. The philosophy of the Early Childhood Program is based on the belief that a childcare, preschool, after-school or camp program should provide physical, social, emotional and intellectual activities which enable a child to have a positive learning experience. Teachers are carefully selected and screened to assure a quality experience for each child. Our programs offer age appropriate activities and an anti-bias curriculum.

of Children & Families (DCF) approved Gold Seal Quality Care Programs - The City of Miramar’s Early Childhood Programs are Department of Children & Families
(DCF) approved Gold Seal Quality Care Programs. A Gold Seal Approval emphasizes
our programs exceed National Standards. It is a level of care that exceeds the
minimum licensing standards by meeting the higher standards set by the accrediting
agency.
The City of Miramar’s Early Childhood Programs have
received the Broward County Gold Seal of Excellence annually since 1996. Broward
County recognizes Early Childhood Programs annually that are committed and dedicated
to excellence.
All programs offered by the Early Childhood Division are licensed and teachers are certified with a Child Development Association Credential or a Florida Child Care Professional Credential. Developmentally appropriate activities are taught in a safe and positive atmosphere. Children participate in motivational programs that focus on building self-esteem and a sense of being important. The City of Miramar Early Childhood Program provides high quality child care
for children. The vision of community which is provided through this program
can color a child’s ideas and expectations about equity, cooperation and
citizenship.
- Each child is provided the physical, social, emotional and intellectual activities which enable them positive experiences.
- Importance is placed on cooperative play.
- Emergent literacy is the core emphasis of the anti-biased curriculum.
- Developmentally appropriate activities and learning materials are taught
by Child Development Associate Credentialed Teachers in a safe and secure environment.

CURRICULUM Emergent literacy is the core emphasis of our anti-biased curriculum. Our age appropriate activities and anti-bias curriculum is followed to assure quality learning experiences. Applications may be printed from our web site, signed and brought to the child care center. They are also available at the child care centers. Parent handbooks may be printed from our web site or they are available at the child care centers. All forms for each application must be printed and signed by the child’s parent, a notary is available at each location. Please call ahead for a registration appointment. The legal parent(s)/custodian of the child must be present to register the child in the program.

Child Care Licensing & Enforcement - The Child Care Licensing and Enforcement (CCLE) Section of the Children’s Services Administration Division of the Human Services Department is responsible for the implementation of the state-mandated licensing of all child care facilities in Broward County. CCLE monitors child care providers for compliance with health and safety standards.

Family Central - Family Central is a not-for-profit agency that is the central child care agency for Broward County. They provide the full complement of child care resource and referral services, eligibility and enrollment services for child care subsidies, individual and family therapy, parent training, resource libraries and developmental screening for young children.
Immunizations and Community Outreach - “We want to make sure Broward County’s children stay healthy” Infant, Pre-School and School Enrollment immunization are offered to the general public without regard to income. Information for appointments may be obtained by calling or visiting the nearest public health center. Immunizations are offered throughout the community for locations, dates, and times check the web site’s Immunization Outreach Schedule.
