PUBLIC SAFETY DIRECTOR

Melvin D. Standley is the Public Safety Director for the City of Miramar and reports directly to the City Manager. The Public Safety Director is responsible for the complete management, budgetary and leadership oversight of the Police, Fire Rescue and Emergency Management Departments. The Police Chief, Fire Rescue Chief and the Director of Emergency Management report directly to the Public Safety Director. Daily life safety operations, the emergency management/recovery of natural or other disasters, and the quality of public safety life in the City of Miramar are the responsibility of the Public Safety Director.
