The mission of the Miramar Green Champions (MGC) is to support the City’s Green Initiatives to maintain safe, livable communities that enhances quality of life by promoting environmentally-sensitive practices that include improving energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, air quality, sustainable sites, and preserving natural resources.
The MGC are committed to raising awareness through education, community outreach, creative solutions, and incentives.
I ___________ hereby pledge to fully comply with my commitment to Reduce, Re-use and Recycle and build a sustainable community, locally and globally, for a better future by doing the following:
- Reducing, re-using and recycling all that I can at home, work and any place I go.
- Saving energy by turning off all lights, electronic equipment and appliances when I am not using them.
- Saving energy by changing all lightbulbs at home to compact fluorescents.
- Saving water by reducing my use.
- Guarding against pollution of land and water.
- Carpooling, walking, biking and driving so I can be energy-efficient as much as possible.
- Educating people around me to practice the Commandments of the 3 Rs.
I recognize that these efforts will not only protect the environment that I depend upon for survival, but it will also save money for my workplace and home.
