The Miramar Fire Rescue Operations Division oversees fire suppression and advanced life support (ALS) medical rescue for the four Fire Stations in Miramar. Three of these stations operate as engine companies and one operates as a ladder company. The stations may also function in dual roles such as hazardous materials or technical rescue. All engine and ladder companies operate as Advanced Life Support (ALS) companies that are staffed with firefighter/paramedics and a complete complement of ALS equipment and medications. These engine/ladder companies help shorten the time that it takes start rendering ALS treatment to our citizens and visitors.
- Engine and Ladder Companies respond to calls in Miramar and render assistance (mutual aid) to surrounding communities including Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miami-Dade County, Pembroke Park and Broward County. These companies respond to a variety of calls for service that include building, vehicle, boat, aircraft fires, vehicle accidents, fuel leaks, electrical hazards, transportation and construction accidents, technical rescues, illnesses, injuries and public service calls.
- Training - Firefighters, firefighter/paramedics and paramedics undergo constant training to maintain a high degree of expertise and constantly have access to the latest technology and equipment.
