How does the city use GIS?
GIS can be used for development planning, spatial analysis and investigations. It is used to map the locations of all the physical features in the landscape such as businesses, places of worship, schools, parks, light poles, fire hydrants, water bodies... In the event of a natural disaster, GIS helps emergency managers respond efficiently.
