CARIBBEAN-AMERICAN HERITAGE CELEBRATION
Celebrate the Caribbean-American culture through music, dance & poetry at the Culture in the Night Concert Series - Caribbean-American Celebration, Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Shirley Branca Park, 6900 Miramar Parkway. This FREE family event will include performances by Glen Washington, Code Red Band, Laura Viva & Remix, Caribbean Music Farm, Audley Rollen, Steel Band, Body Nation Dancers, comedian Rohan Gunter, Shleu Shleu- Haitian Band, Kali Akeylah and DJ Trooklyn. Young children and teens alike will enjoy the Kidz Zone.
There will be food and novelties available for purchase.

CITY OF MIRAMAR 2ND ANNUAL SUMMER CAMP 2013 OPEN HOUSE
Join us on Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Miramar Town Center, 2300 Civic Center Place, for a sneak peek at the exciting summer camps Miramar has planned for 2013.
Meet some of the staff, ask questions and get information on all of the camps being offered. It's not too early to start a discussion about summer camp and make a decision. Registration for Miramar residents will begin in April for CITY camps!
The City of Miramar will be offering 4 different camps:
(1) Summer Camp: Campers K-5th grade
(2) Sports Camp: Campers 6-12 years old
(3) Teen Camp: Campers 13-16 years old
(4) Little Broadway Summer Camp: Campers 7 -14 years old
You will also have the opportunity to get information on some of the private camps that will utilize City of Miramar Facilities and receive important health, education and safety information.

CULTURE IN THE NIGHT CONCERT SERIES PRESENTS LATIN MUSIC NIGHT
Let the beat get your feet moving to the rhythm of Latin music at Miramar's Culture in the Night Concert Series - Latin Music Night, Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 8:00 p.m. to midnight at Town Center, 2300 Civic Center Place. This FREE event will feature live musical performances on Miramar's outdoor stage. You can even experience Latin cuisine by purchasing a tidbit from one or more of the food vendors. Cash bar available. Seating is limited, so please bring lawn chairs if you wish.
MIRAMAR - Join us on Saturday, August 18th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Miramar Town Center, 2300 Civic Center Place, as we celebrate the end of summer vacation and the beginning of the school year with a FREE Back To School Block Party.
Get ready for music, fun, games, inflatable rides, raffles and give-a-ways. So bring the whole family and celebrate! Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

CELEBRATE FLAG DAY
MIRAMAR TO CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY - JULY 4, 2012
The City of Miramar invites you to join us for a 4TH OF JULY CONCERT AND FIREWORKS SHOW celebrating the anniversary of our nation's independence. The fun begins Wednesday, July 4th at 6:00 pm in the Miramar Regional Park, 16801 Miramar Parkway. This FREE, fun-filled family event will include live entertainment from the Miami based, Platinum Album recording group No Mercy, who recorded such hits as, "Where Do You Go," and "Please Don't Go." There will be FREE Inflatable rides for the children and food & beverages will be available for purchase. The evening will conclude with a fabulous fireworks display at 9:00 PM.
So make your plans now to gather with your family and friends at the City of Miramar's 4TH OF JULY CONCERT AND FIREWORKS SHOW. Don't forget to bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Safety regulations prohibit fireworks, glass bottles, sparklers and animals at this event.

Miramar Commissioner Samuels to Host "Day of Service"
Commissioner Troy R. Samuels would like to invite you and all Miramar places of worship to come together to foster the common core beliefs of service to others. The City will be holding a day of service, "Joining Hands in a Day of Service 2012" on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Lakeshore Park, located at 8501 Sherman Circle from 8:00 AM to noon.
The efforts of that day will be to beautify and make the park more enjoyable for all. Gardening supplies and materials will be provided; however, we encourage everyone to bring basic gardening tools and gloves on the day of the event
