Community ServicesWELCOME TO PARKS & RECREATION

The Parks & Recreation Department is dedicated to providing a wide variety of services, recreational activities and special events for residents of all ages, thereby, enhancing the quality of life for Miramar residents.  It is comprised of the following divisions:

  • Administration
    Located at 2200 Civic Center Place (City Hall), this division manages and oversees all the divisions of the department, as well as capital improvement projects. This division works directly with the citizen advisory boards, consulting engineers, special interest and civic groups. Please call (954) 602-3167 for more information. Park permits are issued by the Public Works Department.
  • Athletics
    Located at 7000 Miramar Parkway, this division is responsible for coordinating a variety of youth and adult athletic programs and events.  This division also oversees the four non-profit sports organizations in Miramar:  Miramar Optimist, SWBJAA, Miramar Lions and Miramar PAL.  Please call (954) 602-4780 for more information.
  • Recreation
    The City has four recreational facilities: the Miramar Youth Enrichment Center located at 7000 Miramar Parkway, Fairway Park Center located at 3700 Largo Drive, the Sunset Lakes Community Center located at 2801 SW 186th Avenue, the Ansin Sports Complex at 10801 Miramar Blvd., and Vizcaya Park is located at 14200 SW 55 St. This division is responsible for offering fitness memberships, classes and programs for residents of all ages, as well as after school and summer camp programs for children and teens. Each facility also has rooms available for rent for birthday parties, wedding receptions, quinces and more!!   • Special Events:  Located at 2200 Civic Center Place, this division oversees city-wide special events including multi-cultural events for the City’s diverse community.  For more information, please call (954) 602-3319.
  • Aquatics
     The City has two aquatic facilities:  Miramar Aquatic Complex located at 6920 SW 35th Street, and the Regional Park Aquatic Complex located at 16801 Miramar Parkway.  This division offers a variety of aquatic programs primarily focusing on water safety and drowning prevention.  A wide variety of classes and programs are conducted by trained personnel.  For more information, please call (954) 894-3133.
  • Miramar Regional Park 
    Located at 16801 Miramar Parkway, this new park is the City’s largest, encompassing 173 acres, providing a multitude of recreational opportunities for the residents of Miramar and the surrounding Broward County communities.

The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meets on the 4th Monday of Each Month at 6:15 p.m.
Teen Advsiory Council meets the first Thursday of every month at 6:00pm.
